Who
we are and what we do
Junior Manners presents
a comprehensive training program of etiquette and manners for both everyday
and formal occasions, plus providing social (ballroom) dance instruction
for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls.
You, as
parents, are more than aware of the "outside" influences that permeate
your children's environment and cause you to wonder, "What can I do to
help my child through these trying times?"
The Junior
Manners program builds self-confidence, character, and helps young
people learn to set boundaries. These skills will be used for the
rest of their lives. Classes are conducted in a safe learning environment
and are memorable events with a blend of etiquette, dance instruction,
refreshments and fun.
Carolyn and James Millet have always been committed to the development
and growth of young people. As youth leaders in their church, they touched
the lives of many children.
The Millets are Southerners who grew up in a time when learning social
skills and etiquette came naturally from family, friends, schools and
religion. It was a time of a polite society. Being the wife of an Air
Force officer for 10 years contributed to even more formal training for
Carolyn.
As directors of the Junior Manners Cotillion for the past 13 plus years,
they are always looking to learn newer methods of teaching and to keep
abreast of updated information.
In addition to teaching Junior Manners Cotillion, Carolyn is an etiquette
consultant to businesses, a keynote speaker and author.
When not working, James relaxes by painting Napoleonic miniature soldiers,
tying flies and occasionally getting to “wet a line.”
Both enjoy long walks with their dog “Elke.”
